Maja Slatinšek is a Slovenian composer and musician currently based in London, UK.
She grew up listening to a wide range of genres, from classical to popular music, which shaped her eclectic taste in music. Maja pursued a formal education in music at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, where she was classically trained in piano and music education, followed by studies of Popular Music at East London University.
Maja’s love for popular music and her classical training has allowed her to create a unique sound that blends traditional classical elements with modern production techniques. Her music is characterised by its rich harmonies, intricate melodies, and dynamic rhythms.
She has worked as a composer, producer, and writer across various genres, writing for TV and film, as well as writing songs for other artists. She is also one half of the 80’s inspired electro pop duo “Jimmy and Verona”.
Her work has graced the stages of Eurovision, appeared on TV channels such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and many other media outlets globally. Recently, her piano and composing skills made it to Sundance Film Festival in the film “My Old School” by director Jono McLeod.
