Kett & Shrubshall

The Kett & Shrubshall team combines Catherine Shrubshall’s talent as a professional woodwind player with Richard Kett’s broader skills in film music arrangement and production. The result is emotive, improvised instrumental lines fused with a tight rhythm section, orchestral elements, subtle electronics and sound design. Their music spans multiple genres – including Jazz/Blues, Classical, Folk, World and Experimental.

Catherine’s long performing career includes live shows with William Orbit, Jools Holland and for the Royal National Theatre. She has played on albums for Decca, Warner Bros & Acid Jazz, and recorded audio for BBC Radio and TV shows. Her film collaborations include credits for Handmade Films and Keystone Film Partners.

Richard was a founder member of 80’s post-punk band “Screen 3”, and plays bass guitar, guitar and keyboards. Since then, he has diversified his musical interests well beyond his rock/pop roots, embracing new technology to write hybrid orchestral scores. Richard recently obtained a first-class BA (Hons) in Film Music & Soundtrack Production.
