Dean McGinnes is a highly skilled and accomplished music composer and producer from Scotland. With a diverse portfolio of work spanning films, web series, commercials, production albums, documentaries and trailers, Dean’s music has the ability to capture the essence of a story and bring it to life.
Based in London, he has established strong relationships with award-winning directors and music publishers worldwide. He collaborated with Posing Productions on “The Last Great Climb” and “Brit Rock”, both of which won awards. As a composer, Dean has worked on a number of film projects; his second feature film “The Gardener” has been well-received by both audiences and critics alike, and the distribution deal with Lionsgate was a major milestone for the film, reaching number two in the top ten movies in the UK on Amazon Prime. His composition for the trailer for “Winders” went on to win an award for Best Trailer at the Independent Short Film Awards.
In 2024, he teamed up with award-winning director Caleb Reese Paul for the short film “The Lake in the Sky”, which won multiple awards on the festival circuit and is now being developed into a feature film. His music can also be heard on the Universal Hollywood hit movie “Bros”.
Along with high-profile television programmes such as Panorama, Sky Sports, MasterChef, X Factor, BBC News and the hit Netflix show “Love Is Blind”, he has written music for prominent brands such as Apple, Pro Medica, Dodge, Plenty, Norwex, Nescafé, Panasonic, Tüv Rheinland, and Northrop Grumman. His accomplishments as a producer and composer earned him nominations at The Production Music awards in London in 2015, 2016, and 2021.
